Privacy Policy
Updated September 23, 2026
PolySkill is an AI tutor that builds a course around what you want to learn. This policy explains what we collect to do that, who helps us run it, and how to get your data removed. Questions go to hello@polyskill.app.
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive an account ID, your email address (Apple may give us a private relay address instead), and your name if you share it. We also keep the display name you choose, your time zone and your language.
- Your answers when you join. Your role, the topics you care about, how you like to learn and your goals.
- What you learn. The topics you ask for, your answers while we plan a course, the documents and links you give us, the courses we build, your lesson answers, progress, XP and streaks.
- Your tutor conversations. The questions you ask the tutor and its replies.
- Your subscription. Your plan, when it renews or ends, and the store’s transaction ID. Apple, Google or Polar handle your payment details. We never see your card.
- Your device. Your platform and app version, a random install ID, a push notification token if you allow notifications, your IP address, and events such as opening the app or a notification.
How we use it
- To build your courses and lessons, and to answer you in the tutor.
- To save your progress and keep it in step across your devices.
- To send the notifications you turn on in Settings.
- To run leagues. Other learners in your league see your display name and your XP for the week.
- To manage your subscription.
- To keep PolySkill secure, prevent abuse, and understand how it is used so we can improve it.
We don’t sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
AI processing
Your course is written by AI models. To build it and answer you, we send your topics, planning answers, documents, links, lesson answers and tutor messages to our AI providers, Anthropic and DeepSeek. DeepSeek processes data in China. We send lesson text to ElevenLabs to turn it into narration. These providers process the data to return a result to us, under their API terms.
Who helps us run PolySkill
- Railway hosts our servers and database.
- Cloudflare stores the files you upload and the audio and images we generate.
- Anthropic, DeepSeek and ElevenLabs provide the AI models and narration described above.
- Mixpanel gives us product analytics. It receives your account ID, name, email, your answers when you joined, your learning stats, app events and a location estimated from your IP address.
- Expo, with Apple and Google’s push services, delivers notifications.
- Apple and Google handle sign-in, and payments in the iOS and Android apps.
- Adapty tracks in-app subscriptions for us. It receives your account ID and your purchase records from the App Store or Google Play.
- Polar sells subscriptions on the web as the merchant of record, and handles your payment details, billing address and tax.
We may also share data when the law requires it, or with a company that takes over PolySkill, which would be bound by this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account in Settings. Your sign-in stops working at once, and we then permanently delete your account, courses, progress, tutor conversations, uploaded files and subscription records, normally within a day. Past league weeks keep their results, shown as “Deleted account”. Copies in our backups are overwritten as the backups roll over. To have your analytics record removed as well, email us. Apple, Google and Polar keep their own records of your purchases under their policies.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it for analytics. Email hello@polyskill.app and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you are in the EU, the UK or California, you have these rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the CCPA, and you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where your data goes
Our providers process data in the United States, China and other countries. When data leaves your country, we rely on the safeguards the law provides for such transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections. You sign in through Apple or Google, so we never store a password, and signing out ends your session on the server. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if a breach affects your data.
Children
PolySkill isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
